Building upon the achievements of the Millennium Development Goals, and seeking to address the existing challenges, in 2015 the United Nations member states agreed on a new agenda for sustainable development. The agenda comprises 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 associated targets.
The policies that are covered by FULL contribute to the achievement of goal 3 “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”. Under this goal, healthy nutrition is covered by target 3.4, which reads: “By 2030, reduce by one third premature mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment and promote mental health and wellbeing”.
