Description:
The Ghana Standards Authority Act establishes the Ghana Standards Authority and provides the legal framework for the development, promotion, and enforcement of standards in the country. The Authority establishes and maintains standards for domestically produced and imported goods and services to promote quality, public health, safety, and consumer protection (Article 2).
Moreover, it permits the establishment of standards relating to the composition, purity, dimensions, and other specifications of goods and their packaging. For FULL purposes, these provisions provide the legal basis for the development and enforcement of food standards, labelling requirements, and product quality specifications in Ghana (Article 80).
