The resolution applies to all food products packaged in the absence of the customer and ready to be offered to consumers, irrespective of their origin.
- It includes a list of mandatory ingredients to be described on the label, as well as optional ingredients. Mandatory ingredients include sodium, trans fats, carbohydrates, and proteins, among others.
- In the explanatory statement, it is highlighted that: the information provided by the declaration of nutritional properties will complement the health strategies and policies of the States Parties to protect consumers’ health.
