Regulation of Sanitary Control of Products and Services


This regulation aims to control and carry out the corresponding health promotion of the manufacturing, import, and export process, as well as activities, services, and establishments related to food products and other goods.


For FULL purposes, the regulation has an important highlight:

  • The reference to the guidelines that producers of pre-packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages needs to follow. For example, what information they should contain, the exhibition area, characteristics for the use of nutritional signs, among others (Article 25).

In addition, in 2015, the front nutritional food labeling manual came into force. This manual incorporated the GDA model. For a description of this document see the section of “Supporting Details”.
