The Standards for the Operation, Management and Administration of Early Childhood Institutions define best practices for early childhood institutions and serve to encourage institutions to raise their level of practice above minimum requirements.

Description:

The Standards for the Operation, Management and Administration of Early Childhood Institutions incorporate 12 standard statements, including one on nutrition.

Standard 7, for instance, recognizes the importance of good nutrition in the early stages of a child’s life. It states that “[e]arly childhood institutions provide children in their care with appropriate nutritious meals and model good nutritional practices for children and families.”

Other Related Standards include Standard 6 (Health) and Standard 9 (Child rights, child protection and equality).
