For the purposes of FULL, the most relevant article is Article 4, as amended in 1992, 2011 and 2020.
This article foresees the following:
- “Every person has the right to nutritious, sufficient, and quality food”. Then, it creates an obligation to the State to guarantee the right to food (Article 4.3).
- “Every person has the right to health protection”.
- Regarding the right to health, the Mexican Constitution provides that a subsequent law will define the basis and modalities for accessing health services.
- This same law will also establish the joint responsibilities of the national government and the federal entities in matters of general health. The provision highlights this expectation is in accordance with what is stipulated in section XVI of article 73 of this Constitution […]” (Article 4.4).
